ABA Therapy and Other Services

What is ABA Therapy?

Applied Behavior Analysis is the leading approach to improving developmental delays associated with autism. ABA Therapy will help your child reach their full potential. Recommended by physicians, the American Psychological Association, and the US Surgeon General, ABA Therapy focuses on human behavior and is able to increase desirable behavior and minimize unwanted behaviors.

The earlier, the better. Research shows that early diagnosis of and interventions for autism are more likely to have major long-term positive effects on symptoms and later skills.

The Bierman circle of care and support includes the whole family, not just the child. One way we empower parents is through training and collaboration with our Caregiver Trainings. Our commitment to family training sets our children up for success in our center, at home, in the community, and in the classroom. Our BCBAs meet with each family to train on skill acquisition, behavior plans, and the basic principles of ABA. BCBAs not only rely on assessment tools for program design, but also listen to family needs and future family goals when designing a child’s program.

To get started, fill out our form here and a member of our Intake Team will reach out to you.

If you have health insurance, Bierman will bill the insurance company on your behalf. Your child’s specific services and plan will determine any contracted discounts or out-of-pocket costs.

We offer both forms of therapy at select centers. Learn more about Speech and Occupational Therapy.

Yes, your child needs an autism diagnosis to begin therapy services. Select Bierman Autism Centers offer evaluations. To learn more, contact our intake team at start@biermanautism.com.

Your child will work with a team of educated, trained, and motivated ABA professionals. Your child’s team will consist of:

  • ABA Therapist or RBT (Registered Behavior Technician)
  • Practice Manager
  • Consultant
  • Clinical Directors

Children can start ABA therapy as early as 18 months old. In the early years of a child’s development, the brain is creating more new neural connections than any other time in life. For this reason, we provide Early Intervention Services.

Schools offer a curriculum based on helping children meet goals, while Bierman designs an entire program based around your child’s specific needs. We acknowledge that every kid is different. School curriculum is created before the teachers even meet the child, while ABA is a completely individualized program. A number of assessments are done to design not only individualized goals for your child, but individualized programing and implementation. Programs are often examined on a daily basis to make sure your child is always reaching his or her unique maximum potential.

No, Bierman is not a daycare. Daycare merely provides supervision. Bierman provides an effective, evidence-based intervention.

During your initial assessment, we will determine your child’s individual needs and place of service needed in order to meet goals. We may recommend services be performed in the center, a combination of center and home as needed, or only in the home.

Research defines quality ABA programming as 1:1 services implemented 30-40 hours per week. It is shown that quality programming is best obtained through a center-based ABA model. Center-based services have been shown to have significantly higher staff supervision and training, higher rates of exposure to peers, a higher guarantee of a full-time schedule, and an overall much higher caregiver satisfaction. Your child will benefit from our engaging and motivating staff.

Not at all! Our services are designed to be fun and engaging, especially for younger children. We focus on play-based learning, seamlessly blending education into enjoyable activities that move at a pace your child will love.

For children who need a break during the day, we even have nap rooms to ensure they’re comfortable and well-rested. If you’d prefer to ease into a full-time schedule, we can start with reduced hours and gradually build up over a few weeks or a month.

Our team will work closely with you to create a personalized plan that feels right for both you and your child before they begin their journey with us.

Existing Clients

When should I reschedule or cancel sessions?

Please cancel services if the child or anyone living in the home is showing symptoms of an illness, from the common cold to the flu. Services should not begin until symptoms of acute respiratory illness (cough, shortness of breath) and/or fever (100.4 ° F or higher with oral thermometer) have not occurred for at least 24 hours. To call out, please use Bierman’s call out system.

If someone in your home has been exposed to a person with COVID-19, immediately notify your center. The CDC recommends anyone who has been exposed to a COVID-19 virus should quarantine themselves for a period of two weeks. If someone in your household is self-quarantined, services must be suspended until that quarantine is lifted and all members of the household are symptom-free for the recommended duration.
