Bierman Autism Centers’ Evening Explorers program expands access to ABA therapy in Massachusetts during the hours families request most.

 

Evening Explorers is a structured, play-based ABA program designed for elementary-aged children with autism or Down syndrome who benefit from support between 4 pm and 8 pm.

 

Children build communication, social, and functional skills in a warm, engaging environment guided by trained clinicians. Families gain a flexible option that fits real life, without sacrificing clinical quality or outcomes.

What is Evening Explorers?

Evening Explorers is a clinically guided, play-based ABA therapy program for children with autism or Down syndrome up to age 12 in the Bedford, Danvers, Needham, and Quincy, MA, areas.

 

Sessions include:

  • Individualized ABA programming aligned to medically necessary goals
  • Peer-focused learning opportunities
  • Peer play and social interaction
  • Continuous data collection and progress monitoring

Each evening is overseen by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and a trained clinical team.

What ages do you serve?

Evening Explorers is for elementary-aged children with autism or Down syndrome, typically up to age 12.

 

Where is the After-Hours Program offered?

We are now enrolling at our Bedford, Needham, and Quincy, MA, Centers with openings in our new Danvers, MA, Center coming this Spring!

 

Will insurance cover this?

Yes. Evening Explorers uses the same medically necessary ABA therapy framework as our daytime services. Our team can verify coverage and guide you through the process.

 

Does my child need an autism diagnosis to participate?

Children with autism or Down syndrome are eligible for Evening Explorers. If you are unsure whether ABA therapy is clinically appropriate, our team can help you explore diagnostic or evaluation options.

 

Is transportation provided?

Families are currently responsible for drop-off and pick-up. For those who qualify, transportation is an option. Speak to an Insurance Specialist for more information.

 

Do you offer school coordination?

Yes. We can collaborate with your child’s school team to support consistent goals, routines, and communication.

 

How long do children stay in the Evening Explorers program?

Length of participation depends on progress toward individualized goals. Some children attend for a short time to build specific skills. Others participate longer as part of their overall treatment plan.

 

What is caregiver involvement like?

Caregiver communication happens at pickup, as well as through our routine modeling and strategy coaching, so families can continue progress at home.

 

What insurance plans cover Evening Explorers?

We work with most major commercial insurance plans in Massachusetts and will verify coverage before starting.

 

What if my child is homeschooled?

Evening Explorers may still be a great fit if the timing aligns with your family’s schedule and your child’s clinical goals.
