A Teaching Hospital Model for the Next Generation of Clinicians

Staff group photo at a conference

We partner with universities, graduate programs, and student organizations to strengthen the future of ABA through real-world learning, mentorship, and research-informed care. Inspired by the teaching hospital model, our partnerships are designed to support both student development and the science that moves the field forward.

Whether you’re a professor, career advisor, student leader, or program director, we will work with you to co-design experiences that fit your program’s goals, your students’ needs, and your community. Every partnership is customized to align with your curriculum, student population, and learning objectives, so students can clearly visualize what collaboration looks like in practice.

Partnerships that go beyond career fairs

We believe the best partnerships are built, not booked. That means we aim for elevated, non-transactional collaboration that adds real value for students, faculty, and programs. Our goal is to support meaningful student learning today while helping strengthen a long-term talent pipeline for the field of ABA tomorrow.

Every partnership is co-designed with your institution. If you tell us what your students need, we will help shape the right experience.

Not sure what fits your program best? Tell us what your students are learning this term, and we’ll recommend a partnership format that complements your curriculum.

Why partner with Bierman Autism Centers

Teaching hospital structure: Mentorship, layered support, and continuous learning built into day-to-day work.

Research embedded in real care: PEBBL turns everyday therapy data into practical studies and shareable learning.

A real pipeline with real support: Partnerships that help students see the work, meet the people, and understand next steps, including how early exposure can translate into a future career path.

We proudly employ clinicians from a wide range of universities and training programs, and we actively collaborate with academic partners to strengthen the transition from classroom learning to real-world practice.

We are here to help create progress and possibilities for future clinicians and for the children and families they will serve.

Research opportunities through PEBBL

PEBBL (Progress through Evidence-Based Behavior Lab)  is our practice-embedded research program. It is built to shorten the distance between observation and outcome by turning real session data into discoveries that improve care.

Ways students and alumni can engage

PEBBL opportunities vary by project and are typically best suited for graduate students, alumni, and early-career clinicians seeking applied research experience. Participation pathways may include:

  • External Associate opportunities for graduate students, alumni, and external clinicians who want to collaborate on data analysis and manuscript support.
  • Mentorship and collaboration pathways that align with research interests, training goals, and ethical guardrails.
  • Evolving opportunities for research-aligned projects, including support for academic work where appropriate.

Scholarship opportunities for emerging clinicians

The Bierman Rising Clinician Scholarship spotlights emerging ABA clinicians. Each edition pairs cash awards with mentorship from Bierman leaders and resume‑ready recognition. Our first scholarship contest is launching soon. Join the alert list to be the first to know.
