Diagnostic Services:
We offer autism screening and diagnostic tests at our Scottsdale center in Arizona. We provide autism diagnosing for children up to age 9. You can learn more about our diagnostic process here.
Center-Based ABA Therapy:
We offer ABA, Speech Therapy, and Occupational Therapy at our Scottsdale Center.
Applied Behavior Analysis or ABA Therapy is a way to study and analyze behavior, specifically in relation to environment. Bierman uses a more naturalistic approach, teaching through play. In order to increase the outcome, each child’s therapy program is individually based and designed for them. At Bierman Autism Centers we adapt to children and how they learn. All in all, we “seek to create lifelong learners and long-term success.”
Occupational Therapy is provided to children in our centers that deal with difficulty effectively receiving, processing, and responding to information. This type of therapy strengthens the child’s skills and allows them to be used in everyday life. The goals of occupational therapy at Bierman are to improve and enhance life for the individuals and their families, introduce and maintain/improve skills so they can be as independent as possible, produce meaningful participation in activities, and finally to improve overall success in all aspects of life.
Speech Therapy targets the increase of verbal, nonverbal, and social communication skills. Often children diagnosed with autism tend to struggle with using words or understanding and interacting with others. At Bierman, each child in Speech Therapy has their own personalized program designed by our trained speech language pathologists. Being a part of the program can result in improved overall speech skills, understanding, and interaction with others.
